Students from Inman Middle School will perform "Newsies, Jr.," an adaptation of the 1992 hit Disney film, “Newsies" and subsequent Broadway musical, this weekend at the Krider Performing Arts Center. Based on actual events, “ ewsies" chronicles the 1899 strike in which a group of impoverished New York City newspaper boys stood up to magnate Joseph Pulitzer and other wealthy publishers, demanding better wages and an end to unfair exploitation. Featuring a large cast of talented students in grades 6-8, the production will show at the Krider Performing Arts Center at 7 tonight and at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students.
